Hosted by Beehive Care | Sponsored by Carpenter Box Financial Advisers Date: Tuesday, 1 October 2025 Location: The Dementia Hive, Lancing
Building connections in the care and later life community
Beehive Care’s new Lancing Dementia Hive welcomed around 30 professionals from across the care, wellbeing, and later life sectors for a relaxed and inspiring networking breakfast. The event, kindly sponsored by Carpenter Box Financial Advisers, provided a warm and welcoming setting for attendees to enjoy refreshments, pastries, and meaningful conversations.
The morning’s aim was to strengthen collaboration and connection within the local Care and Later Life community — bringing together practitioners, advisors, and organisations who support older adults and those living with dementia.
A warm and inspiring morning
The Hive was buzzing with conversation as professionals from a range of backgrounds shared ideas, discussed opportunities, and explored ways to work together. Feedback from attendees reflected the event’s success in creating an inclusive and positive atmosphere:
“I met some wonderful people all helping to support those living with dementia or caring for the community or both. I just wish I had had time to speak with everyone!”
“It was such a fun, busy morning at the Hive — thank you to Helen, Kim, Sally, Gill, and the whole team for putting together such a warm and inspiring event. The energy was amazing, and it was wonderful to connect with so many kind, passionate people.”
Spotlight on local professionals
Many guests shared more about their work and how they support the community. Stefanie, a senior and dementia massage therapist, described her approach:
“I work with seniors and those living with dementia through massage, music therapy, and life storybooks. I’m always happy to chat and explore ways to collaborate — I’m based in Sompting but travel across West and East Sussex.”
The Carpenter Box Financial Advisers Later Life team also spoke about their role in supporting older clients and families through financial decision-making:
“We were delighted to sponsor this event. We truly believe that networking like this benefits everyone working with the later life community. Sometimes it really is a case of ‘it’s not what you know, it’s who you know’!
Sally Whitehead and I are part of the Later Life team at Carpenter Box Financial Advisers, assisting with enquiries that come via the Carewise site run by West Sussex County Council.”
Meanwhile, representatives from the Going Local Social Prescribing team highlighted the importance of connecting people to community services:
“We support adults aged 18+ registered with Adur and Worthing GP surgeries, helping them access groups and services to improve wellbeing. Our free short-term support is flexible — from community meetings to home visits.”
Looking ahead
The success of the event demonstrates the strong appetite for continued collaboration and community-building across the region. Beehive Care’s Dementia Hive in Lancing is quickly becoming a welcoming hub for those working in and around dementia care, and future events are already being planned.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to such a positive and inspiring morning. We’re looking forward to keeping the conversation going, and to many more opportunities to work together.”
